Robert Elliott is group senior vice president of Urban Planning and Design for the Irvine Company. As group senior vice president, Mr. Elliott oversees all aspects of community planning and design for development projects on the company's landholdings. This includes villages, residential neighborhoods, resort communities, and commercial centers containing office, retail, entertainment, hotel and cultural uses.
Before joining the Irvine Company in 1990, Mr. Elliott was managing principal at The SWA Group in Laguna Beach, where he managed a 60-person urban design, planning, and landscape architecture firm.
Mr. Elliott received his master's degree in urban design and landscape architecture from Harvard Graduate School in 1981. He has a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Oregon State University. Mr. Elliott is an active advisory board member and frequent lecturer for both The College of Architecture and Environmental Design, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and The Department of Planning, Policy and Design, School of Social Ecology, University of California, Irvine.
