Clarence Barker is executive vice president of the Irvine Company. In his role as executive vice president, Mr. Barker serves as a special advisor to Chairman Donald Bren, helping to guide the development of The Resort at Pelican Hill™.
Mr. Barker joined the Irvine Company in 1988 as vice president of development for Irvine Office Company. Since then, he has held increasingly responsible executive positions in the company’s operating divisions, including serving as president of Irvine Industrial Company and Irvine Office Company, and president of Irvine Apartment Communities. In December 2000, he was named president of the Investment Properties Group, which is responsible for the development, marketing and management of the company’s office, retail, apartment and resort portfolios.In June 2007, Mr. Barker transitioned out of that position and into his current role.
Mr. Barker is a member of the University of California, Irvine's Chief Executive Roundtable, and the board of directors of UCI's Graduate School of Management. He also is a past member of the board of directors of the United Way of Orange County and the Urban Land Institute.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and accounting from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, in 1970.
